SPEC Innovations Attends 32nd INCOSE Symposium

SPEC Innovations Attends 32nd INCOSE Symposium

Another year is in the books for SPEC Innovations and INCOSE! Elizabeth, Mallory, Michael, and I just got back from the 32nd Annual INCOSE International Symposium. The event was over five days, June 25-30, in Detroit, Michigan. After two years of lockdown and being unable to attend in person, the theme was appropriately named, “The Power of Connection.”

We had a great time connecting with many professionals and sharing information about our MBSE tools, Innoslate and Sopatra. Between handing out SPEC swag and giving demos of our tools, our booth was full of excitement and new connections.

On top of meeting amazing people, we were also able to hear messages from distinguished Keynote speakers and industry leaders such as Dr. Christopher J. Scolese, Director of the National Reconnaissance Office (NRO); Carla Bailo, President & CEO of the Center for Automotive Research (CAR); Laura Doughty, Director at Sellafield Ltd; and Christopher Davey, Global R&A Senior Global Manager and Senior Technical Leader at Ford Motor Company.

Some of us even had time to listen to papers on the new Unified Architecture Framework, SysML 2.0, and the Department of Defense initiative on Systems Engineering Modernization. The SE Modernization initiative seeks to integrate Digital Engineering, Mission Engineering, MBSE, and Agile Software Development. It was exciting to hear this as our tool, Innoslate, integrates all these functions.

Along with working hard, we were also able to play hard! We attended the Corporate Advisory Board (CAB) dinner, receptions, and a special night of fireworks over the Detroit River, with views of Canada in the background!

The Symposium was insightful and an excellent opportunity to get out and connect with others. We look forward to seeing what will come from this event for Innoslate and Sopatra, and can’t wait for next year in Hawaii!
