SPEC Spotlight: Michael, Systems Engineer

SPEC Spotlight: Michael, Systems Engineer

Michael Jordan, Systems Engineer1560338124597

I graduated from George Mason in 2019 and started working at SPEC Innovations in November of 2020 after a year of working at a previous company. My role at SPEC is to assist on contracts and occasionally work out ideas that could improve our tool, Innoslate, for software releases.

My favorite part of the job is being a part of various projects, from working with missile defense, to building a project management office for a Navy facility. Because each project has its own unique tasks to solve, it challenges me and allows me to grow. My favorite part of being on the SPEC team is the working environment. The people here are supportive and relatable, and it feels like a work family. I also love that SPEC allows me to use model-based engineering practices that my previous role did not.

I grew up in a household of 5 with 1 brother and 1 sister. I have a dog, Rocky, who just turned 10 this year. My favorite type of food is Italian, but I love to cook on the grill for friends and family on a nice, summer evening. My favorite movies are The Godfather or My Cousin Vinny, and my favorite book would have to be Bram Stoker's Dracula. A Sunday isn’t complete for me until I’ve watched my team, the Dallas Cowboys, play on TV.
