Senior Software Engineer
Full Time | Alexandria, VA (On-site)
Experience Required: The Senior Software Engineer is an expert in software design and development for complex and challenging DoD problems. The Senior Software Engineer should have technical experience in the analysis, design, and test of complex software and computer systems, and competence in all phases of analysis and design as well as available hardware and software.
Ability to design, code, install, and maintain systems; establish test requirements, plans, and execute testing to verify system design and performance; and ensure system maintenance and maintain adequate software systems documentation. Should be very experienced with operating systems, software languages (e.g., Java, C++, Java Script), computer hardware platforms, or other applicable computer systems.
The Senior Software Engineer interprets requirements and design specifications to determine the optimum overall system architecture. The Senior Software Engineer supports system design including formulating system specifications in accordance with applicable standards. The Senior Software Engineer directly interfaces with government management personnel and is adept at oral and written communication required at all levels of management to maintain control of assigned programs and projects.
Experience Desired: Knowledge and experience in agile software development processes and tools (e.g. Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket, Gitlab) as well as experience with DevOps or DevSecOps pipelines. Knowledge and familiarity with containerization and technologies like Kubernetes.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in a scientific, engineering, or other applicable technical or analytical discipline (M.S. degree desired).
Experience: Ten or more years within the specified technical discipline.
Security Clearance: At a minimum, candidates must have a current Secret clearance. TS/SCI eligible.
Location: Work location is onsite at the Mark Center Building in Alexandria, Virginia.
